Stating that the new zoning plan was prepared in a participatory process, taking into account the nature, nature and historical characteristics of the area in question, and the sensitivity of the inhabitants, with the instructions of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, Şahin said, “Before preparing the development plan for conservation, the demands were received by organizing a search conference, A team of experts was formed from trade associations and the process was carried out by holding meetings for a year. A plant inventory related to the flora of Kültürpark was prepared. While the fauna was being prepared, the animal species, the survival and accommodation of the animal species were observed by the expert team. The impact on the urban ecosystem was examined, there were sensitivities regarding the carrying capacity. These were evaluated by the expert team and the building inventory was revised. The inventory of the sculptures in the area has been made. The whole system on these main headings for 12 months has been revised again and turned into the data of the development plan for protection ”.
This plan is very important for the fair to survive and develop.
Stating that the Kültürpark Commission Evaluation Report was created as a result of all this work, Şahin said: “The vision for the area has been defined. Along with the history and nature of the fair, the vision that will unite the public university dreamed by Behçet Uz with today's information society was based on the international fair from the fire place. Ecologically sensitive areas were determined. Analyzes were made up to the overnight accommodation of the animal species. This area has been marked to ensure that attention is paid to this area in any future construction or activities. Green corridors have been increased. We forward all reports to our council members. On the scale of buildings, we limited the area of 27 thousand square meters where the existing halls sit to 12 thousand square meters. More than half of the ground is used as green space for the fair. kazanwe are raising. We protect proprietary structures. We cover the topics that were previously mentioned in the words and reports in the plan notes. Again, we put the management and operating model that did not exist before in the plan notes. The public had a lot of sensitivities about the carrying capacity and the number of people entering and leaving the fair at once. Both these, as well as the manner and probability of doing the activities, were included in the plan note provisions. The conservation zoning plan prepared by our municipality includes new and different plan notes regarding the survival of Kültürpark while preserving its history and nature. These are important and valuable elements for the survival and development of the fair. It is also very important that the fair be included in the plan notes as an important axis in the merger of the fair with the whole green texture of the city.”
