Adelaide Metro is offering free public transport this Saturday, 8 November, to ensure many families can attend the National Pharmacists Christmas Spectacular in safety and comfort. This gesture aims to strengthen the community connection as well as to facilitate participation in the event.

Adelaide Metro Improves Access and Connectivity

The free service will be available on all train, tram and bus services from 6am to 2pm, providing easy access to and from the parade for all passengers. Due to the expected high influx of visitors to the parade, Adelaide Metro will run additional services on the Glenelg line and make temporary tram changes to meet increased demand.

Families are encouraged to arrive early and take their places behind the Blue Line of Honour before Santa arrives. To protect public safety and minimise disruption, Adelaide Metro has coordinated road closures and routes in advance with local authorities. While some bus stops in the city’s central business district will be temporarily closed, new routes will move people closer to the demonstration site. Tram services will be suspended on King William Street and North Terrace during the morning rush hour; however, services between the Entertainment Centre and Adelaide Railway Station will continue as normal.

Adelaide Metro Promotes Sustainable Travel Choices

Adelaide Metro spokesperson Michelle Spagnoletti said they were proud to contribute to this iconic South Australian tradition. “Leave your car at home and travel with us for free,” Spagnoletti invited the public. “We will have additional services throughout the day, so get on early, avoid traffic jams and celebrate.”

In addition to supporting accessibility and mobility, this free transport initiative aligns with the City of Adelaide’s broader sustainability goals. By advocating for sustainable travel choices, Adelaide Metro is promoting community connectivity and environmental awareness through one of its most anticipated annual events.
