Kosovo Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci officially announced that FPV (First Person View) drones called SkyDagger have been added to the army’s inventory. Minister Maqedonci stated that the delivery of these drones will significantly enhance the “strike capability” of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK). This step is seen as a significant indicator of Kosovo’s efforts to modernize and enhance its defense capabilities.
Features and Role of the SkyDagger Drones
In a social media post, Minister Ejup Maqedonci shared the quantity and specifications of the delivered drones.
Models Added to the Inventory: Maqedonci stated, “Thousands of SkyDagger 7” and 15” drones are now part of our arsenal.” The goal is to immediately integrate these drones into the military’s operational capacity.
Combat Capabilities: SkyDagger drones are “combat drones equipped with explosive payloads designed to accurately strike both moving and stationary enemy targets.” This feature demonstrates that FPV drones play a critical role in modern battlefields by providing precision strikes and high maneuverability.

Deepening Defense Cooperation Between Turkey and Kosovo
Kosovo’s strategy to strengthen its defense inventory has relied heavily on increasing defense cooperation with Turkey in recent years. Turkey has become a key supplier in the modernization of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).
Key Procurements: Among the most notable Turkish products added to Kosovo’s inventory are the Bayraktar TB2 Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), which have generated significant attention in the region and substantially enhanced the KFS’s capabilities.
Anti-Tank Capability: To enhance its anti-tank capabilities, Kosovo has also procured important equipment such as the OMTAS anti-tank systems produced by ROKETSAN and the HAR66 light anti-tank weapons produced by MKE.
Armored Vehicles: To bolster the ground forces’ capabilities, armored vehicles such as the OTOKAR COBRA and BMC VURAN have also been added to Kosovo’s inventory.
Local Industry Support: Turkey’s support is not limited to procurement alone. MKE is also carrying out a project to establish an ammunition factory in Kosovo to help develop the country’s domestic defense industry.
The addition of SkyDagger drones to the inventory confirms that unmanned aerial vehicles and precision strike capabilities play a central role in Kosovo’s defense strategy, while once again highlighting the strategic importance of defense cooperation with Turkey.
