Trucking action paralyzed Istanbul traffic

The action of the truckers paralyzed the traffic in Istanbul: A group of truckers took action, citing the distant excavation dumping areas and frequent fines on the Şile highway. Due to the action, the traffic on TEM to the highway and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge was paralyzed.

Truck drivers, who came together on the Şile highway today, took action to protest the decision. A large number of trucks blocked one lane of the highway. For this reason, there was a significant disruption in traffic. The Şile highway came to a complete halt from Çekmeköy to Ümraniye. The TEM highway to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge also came to a halt due to the action.
Meanwhile, there were discussions between drivers and truckers. Many traffic police were sent to the scene upon the reactions of the citizens.
Several penalties were imposed on truckers involved in the action. Some drivers protested the action with horns. Truckers who do not want to leave in a difficult situation, because of the troubles due to the house they can not bring bread, he said.
