Matteo Perego di Cremnago, Italy’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Antonio Conserva and Army Commander Lieutenant General Carmine Masiello, along with a delegation led by Deputy Commander of the Italian Navy Vice Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto, inspected Baykar’s game-changing technologies on-site. The high-level delegation, which observed flight and firing demonstrations, also received a comprehensive briefing on Baykar’s vision for the future.
The Italian Ministry of Defense delegation made a significant visit to Baykar’s facilities in Tekirdağ and Istanbul. During the visit, the Italian delegation had the opportunity to witness firsthand the capabilities of Baykar’s high-tech platforms.
HIGH-LEVEL DELEGATION FROM ITALY
The delegation was led by Italian Deputy Minister of Defense Matteo Perego di Cremnago. Italian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Antonio Conserva and Italian Army Commander Lieutenant General Carmine Masiello, alongside Vice Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto, Deputy Commander of the Italian Navy, as well as Simone Ungaro, Co-President of Strategy and Innovation, and Carlo Gualdaroni, Co-President of Business Development, from the Italian defense industry giant Leonardo. The delegation also included commanders from various units of the Italian Armed Forces’ air, land, and naval commands.
SSB CHAIRMAN AND COMMANDERS JOINED THE VISIT
During the visit, the Italian delegation was accompanied by Baykar Board Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar and Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar, as well as Defense Industries President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Army Commander General Metin Tokel, 1. Army Commander General Bahtiyar Ersay, and ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci.
FLIGHT AND FIRING DEMONSTRATION IN ÇORLU
The delegation’s first stop was Baykar’s AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ. A special flight demonstration was organized for the visiting delegation at the center. As part of the demonstration, the Bayraktar TB3 UAV, the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, and the Bayraktar KIZILELMA Unmanned Combat Aircraft performed a flight demonstration. During the demonstration, the Bayraktar TB3 UAV also successfully performed a live-fire demonstration using MAM-L munitions produced by ROKETSAN.
BRIEFING IN ISTANBUL
Following their meetings in Çorlu, the Italian delegation proceeded to the Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center, Baykar’s main facility in Istanbul. There, Selçuk Bayraktar, Haluk Bayraktar, and Baykar’s project managers provided the delegation with a comprehensive briefing on ongoing projects and the company’s future technological vision. The visit concluded with the delegation’s departure from Istanbul following the presentations and meetings.
