Konak tram line route changed

The route of the Konak tram line has changed: It was announced that the tram project planned to be built in Konak district of İzmir was taken to Mithatpaşa Street in order to protect the green areas.

Konak and the new rail system project in Izmir Karşıyaka The first rail laying process took place in the trams. However, upon the requests of non-governmental organizations, the section of Konak tram route that passed through the coast was taken to Mithatpaşa Street to protect the green texture.

In addition, the project was changed in order to protect mulberry trees in the middle median of Şair Eşref Boulevard. Accordingly, the route starting from Martyr Major Ali Official Tufan Street, Fahrettin Altay Square Sabancı Cultural Center will continue along Mithatpaşa Street.

Following the Gazi Boulevard from Konak Square, you will reach Şehit Fethi Bey Avenue, and Cumhuriyet Square will be reached on this street and return to Şehit Nevres Avenue. The line will be connected to Alsancak Station along the Poet Eşref Boulevard from Montreux Square at the end of the street. The route, which continues from Şehsan Street from Alsancak Train Station, will end at the Halkapınar Eshot garage with the Halkapınar Bridge pass.

The Konak Tramway line, which is a complement to the Metro system, consists of an 12.7 (19) kilometer-long 95 station. As a result of the feasibility studies carried out, it is planned to transport XNUMX thousand people per day in Konak line. Trams, train control and monitoring unit, passenger information system, LCD screens, active route map, camera, image and voice recorder will be announced.
