YALOVA WILL BE ONE OF THE ATTRACTION CENTERS IN THIS REGION
Elvan explained that the most important project that will make Yalova a center of attraction is the highway project that will connect Istanbul to Yalova, Yalova to Bursa and Bursa to İzmir. Explaining that the works are continuing rapidly, Elvan continued his words as follows: “I hope we will open the section between Altınova and Gemlik in the 4th or 5th month of next year. We focused our goal on this. Suspension bridge work continues. Hopefully, it will be possible to walk across the suspension bridge like next May-June. Maybe it will find the month of August-September with vehicles. Work continues rapidly to open the section from Altınova to Gemlik. We have completed 90 percent of the infrastructure works. Our viaducts are about to finish. Our tunnel works are about to be completed. 70 percent of the concreting works have been completed. The highway will be integrated with Istanbul Yalova. Yalova will be one of the most important attractions of this region.
Minister Elvan announced that the highway project, which will reduce the transportation between Kocaeli and Yalova to half an hour, will start soon, and continued as follows: “Our brothers who come to Yalova from Izmit pass through 19 settlements and reach here. They are also caught at dozens of traffic lights. You cover the road that can be reached in half an hour in 1.5 hours. The project regarding the construction of the highway between Izmit and Yalova is about to be completed. Hopefully, we will realize a highway project connecting Izmit directly to Yalova with the build-operate-transfer model. A citizen leaving Izmit will reach Yalova in half an hour. You have a request for a crossing at the Dörtyol junction. This project is also in our investment program. We will make the related tender in a short time.
