Connecting people and businesses in more than 220 countries and regions all over the world, UPS's Boeing 767 type aircraft, which was included in Turkey's export operations last year, performed its 300th flight.

Starting to fly SMEs and entrepreneurs in Turkey to foreign markets as of November 1 last year, UPS celebrated its 300th flight at its headquarters located in the Istanbul Airport Cargo section. With the plane, which started to fly between Istanbul and Cologne 6 days a week, the shipments of exporters in Turkey started to reach 220 countries and regions where UPS operations are located all over the world, with a faster and more efficient connection from the Cologne transfer center. This allows UPS customers to take advantage of reduced delivery times. Thanks to this investment, a capacity increase of 40 percent is achieved in export operations, while the UPS aircraft contributes to the faster and easier connection of Turkish exporters to the world.

Making a statement for the 300th flight, UPS Eastern Europe President Kim Ruymbeke said: “Turkey is among the most important markets in Europe for us. We recently announced that we are expanding our operations at Istanbul Airport. With the last expansion we have implemented, we have doubled our operational capacity, which has increased tenfold since 2018. We are constantly investing in our world-class transportation network to help our customers in Turkey be more successful and make them faster and more competitive. We believe that our operation in Turkey and our exporting customers will write new success stories, which helps to expand and increase capacity efficiently in the field of exports.”

Speaking at the ceremony at Istanbul Airport, UPS Turkey Country Manager Engin Kolat said, “We trust Turkey's export potential and production capacity, so exactly one year ago, we took an important step to carry our country's exporters to the whole world with our own aircraft. Today, on that step, we made 300 flights with our UPS Airlines plane. In these 300 flights, we carried not only the shipments, but also the potentials, future plans and hopes of our customers with whom we are solution partners. We wholeheartedly believe in the export potential of our country and the value we have grown in these lands. We stand by all our entrepreneurs, especially women and youth, with solutions, services and our network covering the whole world. We will continue our investments to fulfill our commitment to transport what is important to our customers in the fastest and safest way. We are proud to bring the value that comes from our country to global markets,” he said.
