In cooperation with Malatya City Council Women's Assembly and Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Family Counseling and Support Center (MADEM), a conference on "Technology Addiction" was given to the residents of Özal Village by Family Specialist Sümeyye Abacı.

Specialist Sümeyye Abacı said that technology addiction had a great impact on us and children with the pandemic period, and said, “In general, I think we all have a problem now. Today, the number of people who can survive without virtual media is getting less and less.” said.

Stating that media tools are particularly affected by children during concrete operational periods, Abacı emphasized that television, which is one of the mass media tools, not only informs and entertains, but also gradually determines how to think, how to dress, and therefore lifestyle.

Emphasizing that it is necessary to pay attention to the periods of 0-3 years, 3-5 years and 6-12 years of age, Abacı said, “We should not lose sight of the wrong tendency of children to watch television, pick up a phone, and open social media accounts during these periods. And as parents, we should show the necessary sensitivity on these issues.” he said.

At the end of the program, residents of the neighborhood thanked Family Specialist Sümeyye Abacı for her presentations by asking various questions about the subject.
