The works carried out to increase the number of tourists coming to Nebiyan Plateau, known as the 'Terrace of the Black Sea', continue with the support of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality. Within the scope of the protocol signed with DOKAP, a 4.5 kilometer concrete road was built by the Metropolitan Municipality to Nebiyan Plateau.

The number of domestic and foreign tourists coming to the 19-altitude Nebiyan Plateau, known as the 'Terrace of the Black Sea' in Samsun's 224 Mayıs district, is increasing day by day. With the road work done by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, the transportation comfort of the visitors coming to the region has also increased. Within the scope of the protocol signed with the Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration (DOKAP), a 4.5 kilometer concrete road was built by the Metropolitan Municipality to the Nebiyan Plateau. Within the scope of the Green Road Project, it is aimed to increase the tourism activity in the regions after the road work that aims to connect the plateaus in the Black Sea Region.

“CONSTRUCTION OF THIS ROAD IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR TOURISM”

Providing information about the road work, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Road Construction, Maintenance and Repair Department, 19 Mayıs District Branch Chief Uğur Tural said, “As part of the 'Green Road Project' carried out by DOKAP, we carried out 4.5 kilometers of concrete road work in Nebiyan Plateau. Within the scope of this project, a cooperation protocol was signed between Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and DOKAP. One of the aims of the project carried out is to attract the people of the region and foreign citizens here. At this point, the concrete road is a comfort in terms of transportation. We are happy to carry out this road work with the instruction of our Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir.”

'OUR ROAD WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL'

On the other hand, the completion of the road work also pleased the residents of the region. Mehmet Köse, Head of Aydınpınar Neighborhood of Ondokuz Mayıs district, said that Nebiyan Mountain has become very active in terms of tourism, especially in the last period, and said, “Nebiyan's summer is different, its winter is different. The road was well built. Our road was beautiful. Since it is a camp center, our students can easily come and go here. Everyone is very satisfied. In terms of tourism, it was very nice to build the road. It is more comfortable because the concrete road is made. We are very pleased. Of course, it is very good that it is a concrete road compared to a dirt road. If there is a road, everything is there," he said.

TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM SOLVED

Samet Muhçu, one of the residents of the region, said, “Previously, our roads were narrow, they were widened and concrete was made. People began to come here more often. Especially in winter, transportation was a problem. Now the concrete road has been built. This trouble is over. Both the nature and the weather here are beautiful, so a lot of people come here," he said.

'THE ROAD WAS BOTH EXTENDED AND CONCRETE MADE'

Cihan Özdil, who stated that more and more local and foreign visits to the Nebiyan Plateau started, said, “Previously, there were dirt roads and they were narrow. It was very nice to build a new concrete road. Samsun Metropolitan Municipality expanded the roads and built a new road, thus making transportation easier. We are very pleased and thank you to those who contributed.”
