The İZTAŞIT project, which İzmir Metropolitan Municipality implemented for the first time in Seferihisar with the aim of integrating the surrounding districts into the public transportation network, started in Menemen after Kiraz. Continuing its efforts to provide safe, comfortable and economical public transportation services, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has added another ring to its İZTAŞIT project. İZTAŞIT vehicles, which first started working in Seferihisar in December 2019 and in Kiraz in March 2022, were put into service with a ceremony in Menemen. Stating that they are determined to establish a comfortable and unhindered public transportation network all over İzmir, as they had said before taking office, Mayor Soyer said, “İZTAŞIT is the adaptation of the cooperative model we apply in agriculture and urban transformation to public transportation. This project has a very simple meaning; it is strength in unity. Our minibus shopkeepers, who make public transportation separately in the surrounding districts with İZTAŞIT, stand shoulder to shoulder and meet under the roof of the cooperative. Hilmi Kurtoğlu, President of the Menemen Chamber of Drivers and Automakers, also drew attention to the importance of this project, given the increasing prices of fuel. Our tradesmen also aim to increase their income by entering the system. İZMİRİM Card advantages
With the introduction of ESHOT-controlled İZTAŞIT buses, the period of cash payment in public transportation came to an end in Menemen, and travel began with İzmirim Card. Citizens of the 60 and 65 age group living in the district, the disabled, students, teachers and public personnel of the security / security class will be able to benefit from free and discounted public transportation vehicles.

In accordance with the contract signed by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Menemen Motor Carriers Cooperative No. 34, transportation services started to be provided with a total of 26 buses on 103 lines. İZTAŞIT vehicles, drivers and cooperative management, in which 26 female drivers will also work, work under the supervision of the ESHOT General Directorate. All trainings given to ESHOT drivers will also be given to İZTAŞIT drivers on a regular basis. Transportation plans will be made by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation and the General Directorate of ESHOT. İZTAŞIT vehicles will serve on the lines connected to Menemen and its surroundings, İzmir Bus Station and Bornova. As the transportation service starts with vehicles in compliance with the legislation, irregular stop-and-go minibuses will cease, and passenger and traffic safety will increase.
