IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Wedding Dress, Suit and Evening Dress Fair opens its doors for the 22th time on 16 November at Fair İzmir. The fair, which has shown great interest in the sector, will continue to be the gateway to the bridal gown, groom's suit and evening dress industry, with its commercial agreements, events that shape fashion and design, and colorful fashion shows.
IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, one of the biggest fashion fairs in Europe, will open its doors for the 16th time with exhibitors and visitors from all over the world. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir – Wedding Dress, Suit and Evening Dress Fair, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ in cooperation with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association, has grown even more this year. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, whose number of participants increased compared to last year and which has grown by approximately 30 percent in terms of surface area, will be held in Fair İzmir in Halls A and B with a total area of 50 thousand square meters. The fair will last until 25 November.
Fair abundance in Izmir
The sector, which caught the pre-pandemic figures in sales, turnover and exports this season, showed great interest in the fair. The fair was full. As in previous years, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir will make a great contribution to the production, economy and exports of both İzmir and the country this year. Along with the economy created by the exhibitors and visitors, many sectors from tourism to accommodation, transportation to food and beverage will also gain.
10 participants from Turkey and 222 countries
This year, a total of 10 exhibitors operating in evening dresses, wedding dresses, groom suits, accessories and children's clothing product groups from different cities of Turkey and 222 countries including America, Germany, Canada and Hong Kong are taking part in the fair. The fair is expected to host close to 3 foreign visitors from more than a hundred countries around the world, as well as thousands of domestic professional visitors. In order to increase the share of companies in the existing markets and to diversify their export products by increasing their exports to potential market countries, two separate purchasing delegation programs will be held for three days in parallel with IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, under the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce, organized by the Aegean Exporters' Associations and the İzmir Chamber of Commerce. In the procurement committee programs, delegations from all over the world, from Europe to America, will come to Izmir and hold business meetings with the participants.
2023 creations are at this fair for the first time
IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, where the 2023 collections will be exhibited for the first time, will dazzle with its glittering catwalks where the designs of famous brands and young talents will take place, accompanied by valuable models. In addition, different organizations will be held in the Trunk Show areas. Within the scope of the fair, 18 fashion shows will be held in three days. Companies and designers participating in the fair will exhibit their wedding dress and evening dress collections in the area specially created for them.
Hasancan Meşelik's Anthea Collection
The "Performance Fashion Show" of Hasancan Meşelik, who won an award last year in the Wedding Dress Design Competition, which gives designer candidates the opportunity to exhibit their first fashion shows in their professional lives, will also be presented to the taste of fashion designers, exhibitors and visitors. The wedding dress and evening dress collection designed by Meşelik, based on the word “Anthea”, which means the goddess of flowers, the lady of flowers and also the flowery landscape in Ancient Greece, will be presented at the fashion show to be held at 16.30 on the third day of the fair.
Winners are announced in the Wedding Dress Design Contest
The 13th Wedding Dress Design Competition, organized within the scope of the fair and aiming to bring new designers to the sector, was held this year with the theme of "modaverse" in order to reveal the designs of the new age bearing the traces of traditional fashion. The first 170 designs selected from among 15 designs took part in the final. The finalists were Anıl Bayraktar, Arife Gedik, Buse Sinem Tekin, Ceylin Hurcanlar, Defne Kacar, Dide Aksamaoğlu, Ecenur Erdoğan, Enes Yolcu, Gizem Mendi, Gülsüm Güneş, İlayda Yasin, Nazmiye Gümüş, Oğuzhan Öndeyer, Sercan İzci and Serkan Çınar. . In a short time, the designers completed the sewing process under the mentorship of industry professionals in the workshops of fashion designers who are members of the Izmir Fashion Designers Association. Young talents will have the chance to present their designs to professionals at the gala fashion show to be held on the opening day. The awards will be given to their winners at the ceremony to be held.
Exhibition and events
In addition, the designs of 15 finalists will be exhibited in the A Hall Foyer throughout the fair. Within the scope of the fair events, Berat Kayışkan gave a speech on “Fashion and Trends” on November 23 at 16.00 and 24 November at 16.00 in the B Hall Trunk Show area, on 25 November at 15.00, moderated by Serra Özsoy Karagülle, with Fashion Designer Atıl Kutoğlu as a speaker. .
