While it is estimated that the global halal products and services market will reach a size of 2028 trillion dollars by 11,2, a new one has been added to the list of institutions that issue “Halal Conformity Certificate” in Turkey. Lokman Hekim University Halal Product Application and Research Center became the first university authorized to issue the Halal Conformity Certificate, which is an important standard of the business world for Islamic countries.

In the predictions regarding the halal products and services market, which covers many business lines and has turned into an important sector in Islamic countries, it is estimated that the market will reach 2028 trillion dollars by 11,2. In Turkey, a new one has been added to the institutions authorized to issue the Halal Conformity Certificate, which has become an important standard to determine whether products and services comply with Islamic conditions. The Halal Product Application and Research Center (LHUHAM), which carries out training and R&D activities for products such as food, medicine, cosmetics, cleaning and disinfectants, as well as services such as catering and tourism, under the roof of Lokman Hekim University, has started to provide "Halal Certification" services.

Lokman Hekim University Rector and LHUHAM Director Prof. Dr. Fatih Gültekin said, “As Lokman Hekim University, we are proud to be the first university authorized to issue a Halal Conformity Certificate. Our Halal Product Application and Research Center has started to provide a transparent halal certification service by paying attention to the principle of confidentiality in a consistent, impartial and independent evaluation process.”

The standards of the global institutions of the Islamic geography are applied

The center, which carries out sustainable and reliable studies thanks to its scientific and technological infrastructure with its expert staff committed to Islamic and ethical values, became the first university to confirm that products and services are produced in accordance with technical criteria and Islamic values ​​in the entire chain, from raw material to presentation. Fatih Gültekin pointed out that halal certification ensures that products and services are delivered to the consumer in a halal and healthy manner by ensuring the traceability of them. Their countries are based on halal standards prepared by the Institute of Standards and Metrology (SMIIC). The process, which starts with the examination of the application, continues with the examination, examination and experiment phases. After the evaluation step, the certification decision is made. After the certification, our center can have surveillance audits and special audit requests when necessary, thus ensuring traceability.”
