The Mengtian lab module changed its position today, re-docking with Tianhe, the core module of the space station. Thus, the formation of the T-shaped structure of the Chinese space station was basically completed.

According to a statement by the China Manned Space Engineering Office, the Mengtian laboratory module changed its position at 9.32 am Beijing time, forming the T-shaped structure of the space station together with the Tianhe core module and Wentian laboratory module. This means that a critical step has been taken towards China's goal of building a space station.

The statement said that the crew of Shenzhou-14 is scheduled to enter the Mengtian laboratory module this afternoon.

The Mengtian laboratory module was launched on October 31 and successfully docked with the Tianhe core module of the Chinese space station on November 1.
