Derbent residents once again took action to put the train station into operation. Speaking in the action, Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş said, "If this train does not stop here, the high-speed train will not pass here."
The historical Derbent Train Station of Haydarpaşa-Bağdat Railway Line, which has been in operation for 150 years, was closed months ago due to the signaling work. TCDD hung a banner last year that the station will open on May 2, but the station is still not opened. Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş stated that the historical Derbent Train Station will be closed for the second time between May 2-18 last year due to the suburban train line signaling works. When the train station, which was stated to be opened in December 2019, was not opened, the citizens gathered in front of the train station building on Derbent Ahmet Lütfü Arat Boulevard reacted against the opening of the train station.
CHP Kocaeli Deputy Haydar Akar, CHP Provincial Chairman Harun Yıldız, CHP Kartepe District President Tevfik Mayda, Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş, CHP Provincial Youth Branch President Emre Andız, CHP Kartepe Municipality Council Member, CHP Kartepe Former President Cumhur Karakadılar and many citizens attended.
'WE PAY THE FEE'
Speaking in the action, Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş said, “If this train does not stop here, the high-speed train will not pass here. This train should go through Pamukova. Everyone remains under that. I'm telling the TCDD Manager. Stop this train here, you have to pay for it. As a brother, who is the headman of Derbent, I am saying that you should not think of lifting a stop in Derbent. We make all of you pay for it. ” (the özgürkocael)
