Historic Derbent Train Station is planned to open at the end of October, but this time it is until December.
Kocaeli Barış NewspaperAccording to the news of Oğuzhan Aktaş; “The Historical Derbent Train Station in Kartepe was closed by the General Directorate of State Railways between 2-18 May within the scope of the signaling project between Köseköy and Pamukova. The General Directorate of Railways announced that the station would open towards the end of May. However, the work at the train station did not end in the 4 months that passed. Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş, who made a statement about the train station, which was rumored to be closed, said in the information given to them that the station will become operational at the end of October or the beginning of November. But that didn't happen either. The landscaping was not completed and the signaling works were delayed until December. Work on other stations and routes will be completed in December, according to the Ministry of Transport's statement.
STATION FROM 1800
The historical station, which started to serve since the years of 1800, was shut down in 2014 due to YHT studies and could not serve. After the completion of the High Speed Train (YHT) project, the station started to operate again and this time the 16 log was closed for signaling work and improvement, but could not be opened at the desired date in the intervening time. Regarding the issue, Erdal Baş and Derbent residents, who are organizing press releases, are trying to solve their grievances.
SPANISH COMPANY DOES WORK
We have demonstrated our reaction many times. Our deputy Haydar Akar paid close attention to the issue and met with TCDD General Directorate. The last reported date for us is October or November. It was said that the signaling shortage would normally be finished in 16 days. This is done by a Spanish company. They said that this study should definitely be done because there is a risk of collision with YHT. We now want our grievance remedied. ”
