Bostanli Tradesmen Call for Tram: 10 has been on the agenda for years Karşıyaka As the construction work on the tram continues, the concerns of the tradesmen are growing day by day. Feyyaz Sungur, Chairman of Bostanlı Tradesmen and Businessmen Association (BESİAD), is of the opinion that the route should be directed to the coastal road starting from the Beşikçioglu Mosque.
BESİAD President Sungur stated that the tram project, which is thought to work on the Alaybey Mavişehir line, was offered as nostalgic single-carriage and round-trip from the coastline. Despite the 3er lane round-trip, Dudayev Boulevard has been paralyzed during the construction phase, and tradesmen have been disturbed by the situation.
“Civil society is ignored”
“10 stops talking about nostalgia tram for tourism purposes from Alaybey to Mavişehir for years. It finally started with the crisis. Nostalgia tram came to us as metrobus. Surely the authorities are thinking of good things but they cannot share them with the society ”. As the roads narrow, the distress is increasing
Feyyaz Sungur drew attention to the problems and difficulties to be experienced when the streets through which the tram route passes gradually narrow. “Although it is wide in Selçuk Yaşar Street, the construction direction will affect the traffic flow negatively by entering Cengiz Topel street from Beşikçioglu Mosque. From Cengiz Topel Street, Vilayets House, the road gets narrower. Businesses on this street will experience great financial losses. The trouble will get worse when the tram enters Cemal Gürsel Street. Hundreds of laborers working in these enterprises will be unemployed ”.

Saying that urgent precautions should be taken and the route changes should be made about the difficulties to be experienced, BESİAD President Sungur said, “Tram cannot overtake the vehicle in front of other vehicles in traffic. For example, transport vehicles will not be able to park temporarily on the road; material etc. delivery will have problems. Most importantly, it will be impossible for the ambulance to wait on the tramway in case of emergency ”. Sungur, in the name of all these negativity on behalf of the tram route Selçuk Yasar Street on the coastal road from Besikcioglu Mosque would be in the public interest, he said.
