Senior Appointment at Marriott International Turkey

Cem Alkaya has been appointed as Operations Director to Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler, which reflects Europe's culture, art and style-oriented lifestyle in Etiler, a decent district of Istanbul. The successful manager, who will lead the operation team of Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler with more than 20 years of experience in the hotel industry and domestic and international experience, will be responsible for all operations of the 5-star hotel within the body of Marriott International Turkey.

Cem Alkaya, who started his education in tourism and hotel management since his high school years, graduated from Etiler Anatolian Tourism and Hotel Management Vocational High School and Istanbul University Tourism Management department, respectively. Alkaya, who stepped into a hotel management career in food and beverage and restaurant operations while still a student in the early 2000s, started to work on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship in Florida, USA in 2008. With his valuable experience in restaurant operations, he returned to Turkey in 2013 and took part in the Food and Beverage Management Team of Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul. Transferred to Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler in 2014, Alkaya held various managerial positions in the hotel's food-beverage and restaurant operations units for nearly 8 years. The successful hotelier, who was appointed as the Hotel Operations Service Support Manager of Maktur Group in 2020, managed the teams responsible for the operations of 3 hotels and 1 marina belonging to the group. Alkaya, who has signed different projects for the most effective use of all resources on the operational side, effective budget management and increasing profitability, was appointed as the Operations Director of Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler in November 2022 and re-joined the Marriott International Turkey Team.

In his new position, Cem Alkaya will be responsible for all operations of Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler. Always inspired by Marriott International's "people first" approach, Alkaya will mentor her teammates in line with their career goals. The recently married successful executive enjoys traveling and cooking with his wife.
