Explaining the results of the study to determine the knowledge and opinions of museum officials working in the TRNC on the protection and transfer of intangible cultural heritage elements (SOKÜM), the faculty members of the Near East University determined that the museum staff do not have sufficient and clear information about SOKÜM.

In the study, it was also stated that a significant part of the museum staff were able to correctly identify the cultural heritage elements in the SOKUM list, and that they had a general idea about the activities of the TR Ministry of Culture and Tourism regarding SOKÜM. In the study, it was stated that in order to disseminate the concept of intangible cultural heritage and conservation awareness in Northern Cyprus, a document similar to the SOKUM Convention applied in Turkey should be prepared and put into effect on the island, and the intangible cultural heritage should be promoted and marketed in a planned and correct manner in cultural tourism and creative tourism.

Determining that Turkish influences are mostly seen in Greek tales, Near East University faculty members analyzed the "Dirimmo" tale, which is known by both communities and is one of the important Greek tales. The academics, who stated that there were changes in the name and the episodes in the tale with the transition from the Greeks to the Turks, emphasized that there are many Turkish elements used in the tales that passed from the Turks to the Greeks.
