In collaboration with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and Bilkent University Department of Communication and Design, the capital's values ​​included in the UNESCO World Heritage List were made into a short film. “Ankara Films” met with moviegoers as part of the 33rd Ankara Film Festival.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to unearth the areas with tourism potential of the Capital.

Ankara Film Festival, which met with cinema lovers for the 33rd time, hosted the first screening of “Ankara Films” prepared by ABB and Bilkent University Communication and Design Department students this year.

In “Ankara Films”, the buildings and areas of the capital, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, were explained to art lovers through a short film.

In project scope; Films were shot for “Gordion, Hacı Bayram Veli Mosque, Augustus Temple and its surroundings”, “Arslanhane Mosque, Beypazarı Historical City” and “Republican Era Ankara: Atatürk Boulevard” which is being worked on to be added to the list. Students produced their short films for the project, which was carried out by Bilkent University Communication and Design Department teachers under the guidance of experts and academicians in Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Department of Cultural and Natural Heritage.

Speaking before the screening of "Ankara Films", which met with the audience, ABB Cultural and Natural Heritage Department Head Bekir Ödemiş said, “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this issue. I hope we will continue our work in this way within the scope of film festivals. I bring you the greetings of our President, Mansur Yavaş. Next year is the centennial anniversary of both our Republic and Ankara. I believe that all these efforts will contribute greatly to the centennial year. I greet you all with respect and love.”

ANKARA'S CULTURAL HERITAGE WILL BE BOOKS

For the project, for which the preparations for the book continued, Bilkent University students visited the works in Ankara's UNESCO values ​​Hacı Bayram Veli Mosque, Arslanhane Mosque and Atatürk Boulevard and received detailed information from the expert teams of the Department of Cultural and Natural Heritage.

The Department of Cultural and Natural Heritage continues to work on a book in the form of a catalog that describes the brief history of Ankara's sites and structures on the World Temporary Heritage List. The book is planned to be published in both English and Turkish.

Prepared works; It is aimed to use the cultural properties on the 'temporary list' for the transition to the 'permanent list' at the diplomatic meetings to be held in Ankara and UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
