Storm and Torrential Precipitation Warning for Istanbul at Noon

From noon on Thursday in Istanbul, the wind is expected to get stronger and blow in the form of a storm, accompanied by torrential rain. While IMM took the necessary precautions against adverse weather conditions, Istanbul residents were warned against possible disruptions in air and sea transportation, as well as adverse conditions such as overturning, flying and flue gas poisoning.

According to meteorological data, Istanbul and the western regions of our country are preparing to be affected by the future low pressure system over the Central Mediterranean. For this reason, it is estimated that the wind, which is currently blowing slightly from the south, will strengthen as of Thursday noon and will be effective in the form of a storm at intervals, accompanied by intermittent showers.

It is stated that the storm, which is expected to blow at a speed of 40-65 km per hour, can turn into a strong storm of 70-75 km with short-term moves. IMM will keep its teams ready on the field, which will intervene against the negativities that may occur due to storms and heavy rain as of Thursday.

The residents of Istanbul were also warned against possible disruptions in sea and air traffic due to strong winds, as well as adverse events such as roof flying, tree and pole overturning, and flue gas poisoning.

On the other hand, due to the system that carries the warm and rainy weather of the south to our region, the expected rains are expected to continue until Tuesday, and the temperatures are expected to remain in the range of 15-18°C for the next week. It is estimated that the air temperatures in Istanbul will be around the seasonal normals until November 21st, and below the seasonal normals by 21 to 30°C between November 1st and 3th.
