ATINA Rail Transport Employees 24 Hourly Strikes: The unions that opposed the draft law of the government to include the metro, tram and train revenues in the OASA (Attica Public Transport Organization) announced an 24 hourly strike for the third time in ten days.
Claiming that the planned changes actually facilitate the plans of the creditors and will enable the transfer of public transportation services to the private sector, union members said, "We will not leave public transportation services to the private sector, but at the same time, we will adopt a fairer and cheaper tariff as possible.
As in the two strikes on February 23 and 28, Athenians, who have to use their private vehicles to get to their jobs, are expected to have a hard time in traffic.
