Great day at the Gulf Crossing Bridge

The first day on the Gulf Crossing Bridge, which is the most important point of the project, will be installed today.

The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yildirim will be present in the installation of the bridge decks of Gebze-Orhangazi Izmir (Izmit Gulf Crossing and Connection Roads) Motorway Project, which is tendered by the General Directorate of Highways with the Build-Operate-Transfer model. The placement of the deck will end at the beginning of March. Installation of the main cable bending operation of the bridge and mounting of the hanger clamps is finished.
In total, the 87 pieces will settle in the so-called Pearl of the Gulf. 26 of them are referred to as giant decks. Each of the giant decks weighs 580 tons, 50 meters long. The remaining 51 slabs will be 290 meters in length with a weight of 25. When the project is completed, it is foreseen that Istanbulİzmir road, which takes 8-10 hour, will be reduced by 3.5 hour and 650 million dollars will be saved in a year. It is stated that 33 of 91 is completed on the whole project. Work is underway in the construction of 3 large tunnels within the scope of the project.
A total of 2 meters will be a thousand 682 meters in the middle opening of the bridge planned as 500 meters. When the bridge is over, 3 will serve in the 3 lane, with the departure and 6 arrival. There will also be a service strip on the bridge.
