Historic Silk Road 8 to revive in September

Historic Silk Road 8 to be revived in September: Railway solution was put into practice to ease exporters in exports to Europe. Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), which started under the leadership of the Greater Anatolia Logistics Organizations (BALO) project longer thanks to export products will be transported by rail in Europe. The first train 8 will depart from Manisa to Munich in September. The train will go to Munich and Cologne once a week. Loads will reach 2 per day from Manisa to Cologne. The aim of TOBB is to start freight transportation activities from Anatolia to Europe and Scandinavia and then to Pakistan by train and to Central Asia and Far East.

TOBB made a statement about Büyük Anadolu Logistics Project. Description; TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the goods produced in Anatolia could not enter the Customs Union because the transportation costs decreased the competitiveness and that they would solve this problem with the BALO Project. Within this framework, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the first freight train will move to Munich in 8 September and added: “Our industrialists will send their products to Europe with more convenient freight by rail transport. The trains that will go to Bandırma from different cities of Anatolia on a scheduled basis will reach Tekirdağ by crossing the Marmara Sea. In cooperation with the Austrian State Railways from Tekirdağ, they will transport their cargo to Munich and Cologne. ” Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that over time, freight transport to other European countries will begin. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they aim to increase the competitiveness of the industrialists with the project and continued as follows:

Kadar Until now, the Anatolian industrialists could not transport their products to Europe due to transportation problems and lack of systems. Transportation costs, in particular, hinder the competitiveness of our industrialists in Anatolia. Although there is a Customs Union agreement with the European Union, only the provinces in the western region can use this advantage. Istanbul exports 51 percent, Izmir 61 percent and Bursa 78 percent to Europe; Konya, which is in the middle of Anatolia, can make 33 percent, and Gaziantep can do only 24 percent to Europe. With the project, we will establish freight collection centers in some provinces of Anatolia. Despite the difference in kilometers between the industrialists in the West and Anatolia, the freight difference of a freight volume to Germany will drop to an average of 125-200 Euro. In this way, foreign investors will show more interest to Anatolia, which has started to solve logistics problems, and the region will be selling high value added export products with new investments. Our target; to start cargo transportation activities by organizing scheduled block train transportations, connecting to Anatolia and Europe and Scandinavia and later Pakistan by train and to Central Asia and Far East. We want to revive the Silk Road. From there we will move from raw materials to Turkey and other countries as well. "

Stating that BALO AŞ is a strong partnership structure, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the company's partners are TOBB and its member 51 chamber, 24 stock market and 15 organized industrial zone, UTİKAD and UMAT. Load train; 30 Hc containers with more load than 45 percent. At the beginning of 2014 will be the weekly mutual 5 block train. 350 container will be launched to 875. In Europe, the destination will be 4. In the meantime, the system will join the 2 ferry.
