Chairman Hayrettin Güngör said, “We are realizing another investment. We are building a new infrastructure between Necip Fazıl Cultural Center and Tapu Junction. Then, our new walking and cycling paths, tartan track and landscaping works will begin. Our new prestige street, which will also be suitable for rail systems, will add value to our city.”
Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Hayrettin Güngör examined the infrastructure works initiated within the scope of the 'Prestij Cadde' project. Metropolitan Municipality Council Members Fatma Zehra Aslantaş, Arif Şen, Ramazan Kibar and Mustafa Saylak also took part in the program, and KASKİ General Manager Ahmet Kavak and Science Affairs Department Head Sinan Çeçen gave information to Mayor Hayrettin Güngör about the implementation processes. Making a statement after the site visit, Metropolitan Mayor Hayrettin Güngör stated that the infrastructure attack has started in the city.
100 Million Euros from the EU Fund
Mayor Hayrettin Güngör said, “As the Metropolitan Municipality, we are carrying out great works in our 11 districts and 711 neighborhoods. Most of our work is infrastructure. Our Kahramanmaraş still needs infrastructure works to a great extent. In particular, the drinking water and sewerage lines of Onikisubat and Dulkadiroğlu need to be renewed. We did some serious work for this. At this point, we have provided a total of 100 million Euro financing from the EU Fund, half of which is a grant and the other half is a very long-term loan. Almost all of this financing we have provided will be used for our infrastructure works.”
Investment of 70 Million TL in the First Stage
Stating that the superstructure works will start rapidly with the infrastructure works started, Mayor Güngör said, “As we have stated before, we have a Prestige Street project that we plan to realize on our Binevler Avenue. Within the scope of the project, infrastructure works started on İsmet Karaokur Boulevard. We will complete the infrastructure, pavement and asphalt works of the 4-kilometer-long artery, which extends from the point where we are at the first stage to the Tapu junction. In our works, we are adding new drinking water, sewerage and rain water lines to our region. Hopefully, thanks to our infrastructure works, we will bring another investment to our city that will contribute to our future of at least 100 years. During our infrastructure works, we are progressing step by step so that our citizens do not have problems in transportation. In the first phase, we realize an investment of 70 million TL. Our work will continue sequentially. We will also give the area a space for new walking and cycling routes and a future rail system. Good luck to our city," he said.
