Financing and Process:Approximately $700 millionThis program receives support from federal and state transportation agencies and is targeted to be completed by 2030. Since Airo trains will arrive earlier, the facility will open in phases.
Function of the Facility:The 260-metre facility will perform daily safety checks, routine maintenance, cleaning and repairs for the new Airo fleet. It will include five Maintenance and Inspection lines and four Service and Cleaning lines, keeping the trains moving efficiently.
This infrastructure investment aims to improve the reliability and quality of service on the NEC by meeting the operational requirements of Airo trains.
