Successful productions of Turkish cinema, which have recently received awards from international film festivals, will meet with the audience at the 8th Tashkent International Film Festival.
A total of 11 distinguished films from Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Ahlat Tree to Semih Kaplanoğlu's Aslı of Commitment will be screened in the special Turkey section of the festival, where Turkey is invited as a guest country.
In the special section prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent and the Indigenous Thought Association, cooperation meetings will be held with Uzbekistan for the development of joint projects in the field of cinema.
Master directors and actors, including Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Reis Çelik, Mahmut Fazıl Coşkun, Ercan Kesal, Oktay Kaynarca, Melisa Aslı Pamuk, Erkan Petekkaya, Nazan Kesal, Filiz Ahmet, Erkan Kolçak Köstendil and Dilan Çiçek Deniz, will attend the festival.
The opening ceremony of the festival, which will be held in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva in the Transoxiana region, between September 28 and October 3, will be held at the Ali Shir Nevai Cinema in Tashkent.
In addition to Turkish-speaking countries, India and Russia will take part in the festival.
