İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu met with the supervisors and chiefs working at the metro construction sites of the İBB, which continues throughout the city. Addressing his colleagues who work day and night to meet the most important need of the city, İmamoğlu said, “In one aspect, I think you are definitely going down in history as the people who carry out the process of a city where subways are produced at the same time in the world.”
Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), met for breakfast with the supervisors and chiefs working at the subway construction sites of IMM, which continues throughout the city. IMM Deputy Secretary General Orhan Demir, IMM Rail System Department Head Pelin Alpkökin were also present at the program at the Çekmeköy-Sancaktep-Sultanbeyli metro administrative construction site in Ümraniye Osmangazi Grove.
YOU ARE DEFINITELY MAKING HISTORY
Addressing his colleagues after the supervisors and the chiefs introduced themselves one by one, İmamoğlu said, "Just as each of you introduced yourself, I felt once again how well-managed this job actually is."
Reminding that IMM continues the construction of ten subways at the same time, İmamoğlu said, “In one aspect, I think you are definitely going down in history as the people who carry out the process of a city where so many subways are produced in the world at the same time. I wish it wasn't like this, but Istanbul urgently needs such a process; urbanization is very fast.
WE ARE IN AN INTENSIVE URBANIZATION
Expressing that there are people working in the branches that Turkey needs the most, İmamoğlu continued as follows: “I think one of the important problems of our country, even the main source of the problems, is urbanization. Because we settle in cities, we move, we migrate. On this occasion, we suddenly begin to grapple with the problems that await us there. This includes transportation, adaptation, employment, security. We are in a very dense urbanization. Obviously this is the problem. It will continue for many more years after all. The main source of the problem in these cities is the accessibility from one place to another. I've known people who haven't left their neighborhood for years. I have been a political home visitor for 12 years. I have witnessed the existence of people who rarely leave their homes. Therefore, when you look at such a sociological side, you cannot even guess how big an impact your performance or the advantages you produce actually have on social peace. Because the basis of liberating people in a city is access. So it is possible to go from one place to another. He has the freedom to do whatever he wants. Of course, this needs other parameters as well.”
WE ARE ALL SIGNING TOGETHER ON THE IMPORTANT ISSUE OF THE CITY
Reminding that during the election period, the demand of women with children up to the age of four to obtain the right to free transportation was brought to the agenda by him, İmamoğlu said, "This was the elimination of a grievance that had settled in my brain before I became a metropolitan candidate." İmamoğlu continued his speech as follows:
“This was actually an experience I got from those house tours again. There is the cry of a woman who cannot go out because she has a child. I think we received a lot of prayers. So even if it doesn't make a lot of noise -it doesn't matter if it doesn't come out- let them benefit. Therefore, we are signing together on such an important issue of the city. Of course, we have difficulties, these works do not come without money. In fact, it is not difficult to find money in today's world. In such a city, it is not difficult to produce work and find money, but if you find money, you have to break down other barriers and so on. Oh, I hope everything will be alright. At the end of the day, Istanbul wins. We feel ourselves under guarantee. God bless you all for your existence. Please do the right things. The most decisive thing should be your insistence that you are doing the right thing.”
İmamoğlu noted that his colleagues are responsible for correcting the shortcomings they have revealed politically and their profession commands this. Saying, "So please don't blame only politicians," said İmamoğlu, "Because I think your profession orders you to do this. In this respect, if every professional, every well-educated person in the country gives his profession his due and defends the truths that his profession offers him, there will be very few wrong things in this country. If some mistakes are made today, I think it is because some professionals neglect their profession. Of course, administrators are very important. The logic of the administrator or the philosophy of the administrator is very important, but we should not neglect other elements that give him that opportunity. In that respect, your determination, your insistence on the truth is a great guarantee for us. I can feel strong with it. I can't feel otherwise. So with your will, I can feel strong. As the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, our other friends and fellow travelers working under the roof of IMM, like you, act with the same character; Every manager who entrusts this human resource of our country with a healthy method will be successful. "There's no reason why it shouldn't be successful," he said.
DON'T NEGLECT YOUR FAMILY
İmamoğlu also advised his colleagues to spare time for their families and said, “First of all, be healthy. Don't forget your wedding anniversary. Never forget your spouse's birthday. I also forgot, I suffered the blow," he said.
PELİN ALPKÖKİN: WE ARE OPENING A TUNNEL UNDER A CITY LIKE ISTANBUL
Speaking before İmamoğlu, Pelin Alpkökin, Head of the IMM Rail System Department, said, “I have a nice time with you with my friends. sohbet I wanted to get into the environment. Because they really do a great job. From pouring concrete at night, testing, to getting to work early in the morning. They are always trying to cultivate something. We are tunneling under a city like Istanbul, we are operating. Therefore, my friends here work with great effort and effort. Generally, the openings are crowded and they cannot see you closely, so I asked you for such an invitation. You came right away. Thank you very much on behalf of all my friends.
