Safety of Citizens in Public Transport in Kocaeli is entrusted to UKOM

Public transportation vehicles operating throughout Kocaeli are controlled by the Transportation Coordination Center (UKOM) established with the latest technological equipment within the scope of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Public Transportation Directorate. Instant messages are sent by UKOM to vehicle drivers who do not comply with the social distance rule, mask usage and vehicle occupancy rate. Additionally, in order to comply with the rules, voice alerts are issued for the passengers from the announcement system in the vehicle. Penalties are taken against drivers who violate the rules and carry unmasked passengers. Despite the warnings of the drivers, the passengers who insist on getting into the vehicle without a mask are also identified and forwarded to the police.

MASS TRANSPORT VEHICLES ARE FOLLOWED BY THE CAMERAS

In accordance with the decisions of Kocaeli Provincial General Hygiene Board dated 01.06.2020 and numbered 2020/60; In the center, where the criteria of the circular are meticulously applied in public transportation vehicles in line with the implementation of the measures to be taken regarding the Urban Transportation Vehicles in Covid-19 Outbreak Management and Working Guide, public transportation vehicles are monitored through cameras. In the examinations made through the cameras, vehicle occupancy rates, distance rule, unmasked passengers and drivers are determined.
