The wastes taken out of the sea within the scope of sea surface cleaning works initiated by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in the coastal areas two years ago reveal the environmental insensitivity. To date, more than 420 cubic meters of waste from the sea surface was removed, the last day in Gemlik even recently removed an old refrigerator from the sea.
To be a real coastal city of Bursa, the 115 maritime seashore and the 180 kilometer lake coastline continue uninterruptedly, especially in Mudanya, Gemlik and Karacabey Boğazı. With the sea surface cleaning vehicles taken two years ago, all waste thrown from the boats and ships and unconsciously by the citizens are collected and transported to waste disposal facilities.
Refrigerator even appeared
To date, more than 420 cubic meters of waste was collected from the sea surface in Bursa water band, pillows, beds, chairs, pet bottles, plastic toys, cardboard, paper and food after the refrigerator was added to the waste. An old refrigerator that was found during the cleanings on the sea surface in Gemlik was taken out of the water by the teams and brought to the beach. While the waste generated from the seas in Bursa reveals the insensitivity to the environment, the cleaning works of the teams of the Metropolitan Municipality both on the sea surface and on the coasts continue without losing speed.
