During the ceremony, the opening ribbon of the Eurasia Tunnel, which connects the two sides of the Bosphorus under the sea via two-storey land, was cut. President of Religious Affairs Mehmet Görmez made the opening prayer. After the ceremony, President Erdoğan and his accompanying protocol members passed through the Eurasia Tunnel in their vehicles. President Erdoğan, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, IMM President Kadir Topbaş and their entourage, who took a souvenir photo at the deepest point of the tunnel, got on their vehicles again and went to the Anatolian side. The construction work of the Eurasia Tunnel connection roads Coastal Road, which was made by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication in order to contribute to the solution of the traffic problem in Istanbul and the Istanbul Strait Highway crossing, was completed with the investments of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
