MTA Metro-Northhas introduced a special locomotive, the eighth member of the railroad’s Heritage Series, designed to commemorate US veterans. The design process of the locomotive began with the experience and suggestions of experienced Metro-North employees. Established from within the workforce A committee of 12 members, evaluated the suggestions and focused on the details that made the tribute to veterans feel “deserved”.

Appearance:There is an American flag on the nose and silhouettes of iconic military equipment on the sides.
Symbolism:The emblems use the patch format passengers recognize; colors look good in the photo and symbolism remains readable even at high speed. Authorities describe it as “practical storytelling.”
It Will Be a Part of Daily Operations
Following the introduction ceremony, the locomotive will visit staff facilities before entering regular service by the end of November. This means the tribute to veterans will meet passengers not just at a special event, but as part of daily operations.
