The second part of Denizli Ring Road, which regulates the urban and transit traffic flow of Denizli, and the Honaz Tunnel were put into service on Saturday, January 28 with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Speaking at the ceremony, which was also attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Director of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, President Erdoğan said, “We increased the length of the divided highway we took over in Denizli from 65 kilometers to 442 kilometers in total.” said.

Stating that they opened the 3-kilometer second stage of the Denizli Ring Road, which is an important investment for Denizli in transportation, and the 400-meter Honaz Tunnel, which was completed with a cost of 14 billion 2 million liras, Erdoğan said, “Thus, Denizli, where 640 thousand vehicles pass daily, provides a comfortable access to the urban traffic. we breathe. Reducing travel times and increasing comfort and safety with such investments will make significant contributions to Denizli's industry, trade and tourism.”

President Erdoğan later connected to our General Manager Abdulkadir Uraloğlu via video conference. Erdogan, who gave the instruction to cut the opening ribbon of the project, put Denizli Ring Road and Honaz Tunnel into the service of the public.

Denizli Ring Road

The city's ring road network has been completed with the Denizli Ring Road and the 2 meter long Honaz Tunnel, which were implemented to ease the urban and intercity transit traffic flow of Denizli. The 640-kilometer city crossing, which was completed in 30 minutes on average and 45 minutes in the summer period with the existing road, was shortened by half to 28 kilometers thanks to the ring road, and the travel time was reduced to 14 minutes.

With the removal of traffic from Denizli City Center, the traffic density in Denizli city, where more than 30 thousand vehicles pass on average per day, was relieved, while a comfortable, safe and uninterrupted traffic flow was established on the route. In addition, with the Honaz Tunnel built within the scope of the project, Honaz Mountain was passed to a high standard.

With Denizli Ring Road and Honaz Tunnel, a total of 571 million TL will be saved annually, 223 million TL from time and 794 million TL from fuel oil, and carbon emissions will be reduced by 28.297 tons.
