Private Egepol Hospital employees launched another exemplary social responsibility campaign.
Egepol Health Group employees lined up to donate blood voluntarily at the event held in cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent Aegean Region Blood Center.
Nursing and Patient Care Services Director Özlem Uyar said that they acted with a sense of social responsibility and participated in the blood donation campaign after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
GIVE BLOOD SAVE LIVES
Stating that the blood taken from blood donors in bags, plasma and blood cells are separated under sterile conditions in laboratories and various blood products are prepared for use in patients for different purposes. Murat Çelik, on the other hand, gave the following information: “The plasma part of the blood can be frozen and stored for a longer period of time; however, the part containing blood cells such as erythrocytes should be used within 30 – 35 days at the latest; Therefore, continuity in blood donation is more important. I congratulate the employees of the Turkish Red Crescent Aegean Region Blood Center, who are constantly making efforts in this regard, and all my colleagues who came running to donate blood. As Egepol Family, we will work harder to increase the number of conscious blood donors, and you can save a life by taking 20 minutes of your time.”
Noting that the need for blood donation is constant, Red Crescent officials also stated that the blood used in accidents, surgery, cancer patients, those waiting for organ transplants and in many similar situations brings the needy back to life.
