Organized for the 9th time this year by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, the "Republican Race" will be run on Saturday, October 29th. Participants will be able to register electronically on the official website of the Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaeli.bel.tr.
WILL BE ORGANIZED IN 3 CATEGORIES
The race, which will start in front of Sekapark Kite Hill, will be held in 3 categories. Prizes will be given to the winners of the event, which will be held as a 1-kilometer children's marathon, 3-kilometer public marathon and 10-kilometer run. Chest numbers will be received by presenting the identity card from the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Republic Run desk, which was established within SEKASEM in the center of Izmit, until October 28, 2022.
REGISTRATIONS WILL BE MADE ELECTRONICALLY
Participants over the age of 18 will submit their registration electronically, and participants under the age of 18, after completing their pre-registration electronically, fill in the Parent consent requested in the registration process and submit it to the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Republic Race table.
TIMING CHIP WILL BE USED
A timing chip will be given to the athletes who will participate in the 10 kilometer run next to their chest numbers. Since the degree of the athlete who does not receive his chip cannot be measured, there will be no claim arising from this deficiency. The timing chip will only be given to athletes participating in the 10km run. Registration number, chest number and timing chip must be the same and must be checked and received by the runner.
EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE
The aim of the Republic Run, where citizens from all walks of life, regardless of children, young or old, can run; To increase the enthusiasm of the Republic Day, to spread athletics and to contribute to socialization by bringing people together through sports in Sekapark, which fascinates with its colorful appearance. While the 3 km race will not be registered from outside the province, participation in all other categories will be possible from outside the province. Runners and the public from all age groups from 7 to 70 can participate in the races.
MONEY PRIZE WILL BE GIVEN
“Republic Run and Children's Marathon” 10 km Run and 3 km Public Run will be independent from each other, and for this reason, the degrees and rewards of the runners will be calculated separately. In this context, the top 10 runners in all categories receive a cash award, and the top 3 runners are awarded according to their degrees; 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals will be awarded. The top 3 runners must appear on the award podium with their official t-shirts during the medal ceremony. The winner in the 10 km race (female-male) will be awarded 12 thousand TL, and the winner in the 3 km public race (female-male) will be awarded 3 thousand TL. All categories will start running with 5-minute intervals, while the 10-kilometer run will start at 12.05. The award ceremony will be held at 13.00.
THESE RULES APPLY
The competitions will be held in accordance with the Athletics Federation and IAAF competition rules. Competition; The club will be open to individual and foreign athletes and foreign national athletes will need to present their passports when registering. In addition, the responsibility for participation in the races will belong to the participants. In this context, participants will be required to fill in the relevant undertaking.
ONLY KOCAELI CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE PUBLIC RUN
Both male and female runners can participate in the competitions. The duration of the competitions will be 2 hours and the ratings of the runners exceeding this time will not be taken into consideration. People residing within the borders of Kocaeli can participate in the 3-kilometer public run. Participants from outside of Kocaeli will be disqualified.
RACE TRACKS
The 1-kilometer Children's marathon and the 3-kilometer public run will start in front of Sekapark Kite Hill. Runners will follow the track determined by lanes within the Sekapark area. In the 10-kilometer run, the runners who will start in front of Sekapark Kite Hill will pass in front of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and turn in front of the Social Facilities of Lastik-İş Union and follow the route in the same way.
