Rize-Artvin Airport, which will be put into service on Saturday, has become a permanent air border gate open to international entrances and exits.
The Presidential Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, the determination of Rize-Artvin Airport as a permanent air border gate open to international entrances and exits was decided in accordance with the Passport Law.

Rize Artvin Airport will be opened on 14 May at 14.00

The opening of Rize-Artvin Airport, Turkey's second runway built with a sea embankment, will be held on May 14 at 14.00:XNUMX with the participation of President Erdogan and President of Azerbaijan Aliyev.

Rize-Artvin Airport, which will have the distinction of being the 2nd airport in Turkey and the 5th airport in the world to be built on the sea filling after Ordu-Giresun Airport, will be built by President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of Azerbaijan, who will arrive in Rize on Saturday, 14 May. It will be held at 14.00 on the same day with the participation of Aliyev.

Test Flights Continue

At Rize-Artvin Airport, whose infrastructure construction has been completed and the production of runways and taxiways has been completed, lane field corrections have been completed to a large extent, while the lines of the runway and aprons have been drawn.

While the test flights continued days before the airport's first test flights started on 14 March, a calibration flight was made for the commissioning of the airport navigation devices with the flight control plane belonging to DHMI.

It has been learned that test flights will continue until Friday.
