TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and TÜBİTAK SAGE have been selected as the test center for the "Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic" (DIANA), which was established for the use and development of new technologies by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Tests of important projects will be carried out at TÜBİTAK Informatics and Information Security Advanced Technologies Research Center (BİLGEM) and TÜBİTAK Defense Industry Research and Development Institute (SAGE), which have managed to become two of the 70 test centers selected among about 47 centers in NATO countries.

What is DIANA?

Overall, DIANA will strengthen transatlantic cooperation on critical technologies, foster interoperability, and engage with academia and the private sector, including start-ups, to enable NATO to leverage civilian innovation. DIANA will cover accelerator networks and test centers in NATO countries. DIANA will enable the Alliance to adapt and adopt new technologies faster, strengthen its industrial base and close innovation gaps so Allies can continue to work effectively together. DIANA is planned to consist of offices, test centers and accelerators in Europe and North America.

Test centers are defined as areas where concepts and technologies will be brought for testing, evaluation and validation within the scope of DIANA. Through test centers, DIANA will gain access to the most important minds, assets, and then technologies across the Alliance. Scientists, engineers, technologists and entrepreneurs will benefit from the reputation of their concepts and technologies being certified by NATO. DIANA's Test Centers will also create an environment where new standards can arise and where interoperability, ethics and safety will be integrated through design.
