March Inflation Figures Announced

According to TURKSTAT, annual consumer inflation rose to 61,14 percent in March. This rate was 54,44 percent in February. ENAG, on the other hand, announced annual inflation as 142,63 percent.

In the consumer price index (CPI) in March 2022, 5,46 percent compared to the previous month, 22,81 percent compared to December of the previous year, 61,14 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 29,88 percent according to the twelve-month averages. increase occurred.

HIGHEST INCREASE IN TRANSPORT AND FOOD

The lowest annual increase was realized in the communication main group with 15,08 percent. The other main groups in which the increase was lower compared to the same month of the previous year were education with 26,73 percent, clothing and shoes with 26,95 percent and health with 34,95 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, the main groups with the highest increase compared to the same month of the previous year were transportation with 99,12 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 70,33 percent, and household goods with 69,26 percent, respectively.

HIGHEST MONTHLY INCREASE IN TRANSPORTATION

In terms of main expenditure groups, the main groups that showed the least increase in March 2022 were clothing and footwear with 1,78 percent, housing with 1,84 percent and entertainment and culture with 2,78 percent.

On the other hand, the main groups with the highest increase in March 2022 were transportation with 13,29 percent, education with 6,55 percent, restaurants and hotels with 6,04 percent, respectively.

In March 2022, out of 409 items included in the index, the average price of 69 items decreased, while the average price of 27 items remained unchanged. The average price of 313 items increased.

In March 2022, CPI excluding unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was 4,24 percent compared to the previous month, 16,38 percent compared to December of the previous year, 51,34 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. and an increase of 27,48 percent compared to the twelve-month averages.

The Inflation Research Group (ENAG), on the other hand, announced that March inflation was 11,93 percent monthly and 142,63 percent annually.

Diesel became the champion of hike with a price increase of 32,67 percent compared to the previous month in March. While gasoline ranked second in this field with an increase of 24,41 percent, coal was third with an increase of 23,47 percent.

With an increase of 20,56 percent, onion was the fourth product with the highest price increase in March, while the increase in intercity bus tickets was announced as 20,01 percent.

Annual producer inflation realized in three digits in March after February and rose to 114,97 percent. On a monthly basis, the increase in producer prices was 9,19 percent.

The gap between producer inflation and consumer inflation broke a record again with 53,8 points.
