EXPO 2021 Hatay's area in Antakya will host the 'Climate Change and Children' photography exhibition.

The exhibition, which will meet with the people of Hatay in cooperation with UNICEF and TED Hatay College, will open its doors to visitors in the Antakya EXPO area on April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

The exhibition will call for reducing pollution, adopting environmentally sustainable solutions, protecting children from the effects of climate change and promoting their participation in climate action.

The common message of TED Hatay College students at the opening of the exhibition will be "We are running out of time against the climate crisis, but everyone has a lot of work to do".

TED Hatay College Chairman and founding representative Prof. Dr. Regarding the exhibition, Mustafa Özat said, “As the TED Hatay College family, we volunteer to lead efforts to combat climate change, which deeply affects both our region and the world.”

UNICEF Turkey Representative Regina De Dominicis reminded that the climate crisis is a child rights crisis that does not affect all children equally.

“Although children are the least responsible for climate change, children will bear the brunt of climate change,” de Dominicis said. That is why UNICEF urges governments to act now and adopt environmentally sustainable solutions across all sectors, while protecting children already affected by climate change and putting them at the center of promoting environmentally sustainable lifestyles.”

The exhibition, which was held to remind people of their responsibilities to save the planet, the only home of all people, was held in Ankara for the first time in December last year, on the 75th anniversary of UNICEF.

It was opened by Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. The exhibition to be held by Lütfü Savaş will start on Saturday, April 23 at 16.00 and will host its guests for a month.
