EGO Sports National boxer Filiz Işık, who broke new ground in the 'Youth European Boxing Championship' held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, won the gold medal and became the European Champion. The young athlete was greeted with enthusiasm by his family, club managers, municipal bureaucrats, coaches and colleagues at Esenboğa Airport.

National boxer with EGO Sports, Filiz Işık, who became the European Champion at the 'Youth European Boxing Championship' held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and broke new ground in Turkey, returned home with a gold medal.
National athlete at Esenboğa Airport; EGO Sports Club President Taner Özgün, ABB Police Department Head Mustafa Koç, EGO Deputy General Manager Zafer Tekbudak, BUGSAS General Manager Metin Alkaya, his family, club managers, municipal bureaucrats, trainers and friends welcomed with great enthusiasm.
NATIONAL ATHLETE CREATED IN TEARS
Filiz Işık, who made it to the finals in the Young Women's category with 48 kg and became the champion by beating her opponent, could not hold back her tears in Başkent, where she was greeted with the performances of the Janissary Team and the National Anthem.
EGO Sports Club President Taner Özgün said that they are proud of the fulfillment of the promise made by the national athlete and said, “Filiz was actually 14 when she came to us, she grew up and is a place of support. I had my first conversation with him, that every punch you throw is your hope. This did not disappoint their hopes and it made our faces white. Our President, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, has a great share in the success of these girls in today's championships. Filiz has a word for me again, I hope she will come with a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics and our faces will turn white again," he said.
European Champion Filiz Işık, who went from Esenboğa Airport to the center by open bus, expressed her feelings with these words:
“It is a great feeling to have our National Anthem sung. It's not enough to tell, we worked hard and we never gave up. I would also like to thank our President Taner and our President Mansur, they have always been supportive. I will have our National Anthem sung even more from now on, I believe. I have the World Championship in 20 days, I will go all the way.”
Congratulating Işık for his success, EGO General Manager Zafer Tekbudak said, “The financial and moral difficulties experienced during the pandemic process made people unhappy. With this success of our beautiful girl, we have overcome the troubles within us to a great extent. He took on a great responsibility and we are waiting for the world championship from now on”, while BUGSAS General Manager Metin Alkaya also expressed his thoughts, “We congratulate our team for the success of our team. As the board of directors, we wish them continued success.”
