Ankara Metropolitan Municipality surprised the citizens of the Capital with the 23-year Bombardier metro, which was specially prepared for the 25 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day. Turkey's first subway train, decorated with graffiti by the EGO General Directorate, was launched on the Kızılay-Koru line. The people of Başkent, who got on the train accompanied by the Ankara City Orchestra, had a nostalgic journey.

The 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day, which was presented to children by the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, with the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, was celebrated with a series of events in the Capital.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate broke new ground and launched the 25-year-old Bombardier subway train, which was decorated by graffiti artists, on the Kızılay-Koru line with live music.

Başkent residents were surprised by the nostalgic train with 6 wagons, decorated with balloons and flags, departing from Macunköy Metro Management in the morning.

EGO General Directorate Transportation Planning and Rail System Department Head Serdar Yeşilyurt said that they prepared Turkey's first subway car specially for the 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day, and said, “The 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day, a gift from the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, to our children. We celebrate your holiday with this event. The train we are in right now is Turkey's first metro vehicle. In fact, it is the first metro vehicle of the Republic. We decorated these wagons with graffiti on April 23 themes. It is a gift to all our children,” he said.

Even the traveling citizens accompanied the songs played by the Ankara City Orchestra artists on the train.

Stating that they had unforgettable moments on the train, which was the scene of colorful images, Başkent residents expressed their feelings with the following words:

Oguz Bayar: “We learned about this event from social media and wanted to participate. We wanted to participate in this event organized by the Metropolitan Municipality with our children and nephews. Maybe we can't have as good holidays as before, but we try to be involved in such events as much as we can. I would like to thank our Metropolitan Municipality for creating such an opportunity and opportunity for us.”

Filiz Bayar: “We were also excited with our children. A very well thought out and thank you to everyone who contributed.”

Jacob Drawer: “We were very happy. Today we became a child with a child. I would like to thank our President Mansur and everyone who contributed.”

Halime Özkese: “It was beautiful. I used this subway a lot at the time. It almost took me back to my youth and childhood. I'm from Batıkent, I took this train a lot, but today it felt nice and fun.”

Messages and announcements stating the meaning and importance of the day were also broadcast at metro stations and wagons on April 23.
