Akıncı TİHA also took part in Operation Claw-Lock, which continued successfully in northern Iraq. Operation Claw-Lock, launched on April 18, 2022 in northern Iraq, was the first major operation developed by BAYKAR, in which Akıncı participated. BAYKAR Technology announced the development with its Twitter account. The post reads: “Bayraktar Akıncı TİHA and Bayraktar TB2 SİHA are on duty 7/24 in Claw Lock Operation”. In this context, the number of terrorists neutralized within the scope of the successful Claw-Lock Operation rose to 42.

About Operation Claw Lock

In order to neutralize the PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, to eliminate the terrorist attacks against our people and security forces from the north of Iraq and to ensure our border security; In line with our self-defense rights arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, the “PAW-LOCK OPERATION” has been launched against terrorist targets in northern Iraq (so-called Metina, Zap and Avasin-Basyan regions).

In the statement made by the MSB, "The PKK/KCK terrorist organization, which suffered heavy losses as a result of the successful operations carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces; It has been determined that it continues to exist in some regions in the north of Iraq, continues to create shelters and positions and is in preparation for a large-scale attack.”

Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar followed Operation PENÇE-LOCK at the Land Forces Operations Center. “Before the operation, targets consisting of shelters, bunkers, caves, tunnels, ammunition depots and so-called headquarters belonging to the PKK/KCK organization were brought under fire with air operations.

Prior to the air assault operation, the targets determined by Fırtına, MLRA and other artillery units stationed in the region were heavily fired and hit with full accuracy.

Our Commandos and Special Forces elements, supported by our air forces, fire support vehicles, ATAK helicopters, UAVs and SİHAs, infiltrated from the land and were transferred to the region with air attack operations.
