Turkish Classical Music artist, choir conductor İnci Çayırlı passed away at the age of 86. Turkish classical music artist Onur Akay announced the news.

Akay said, “Unfortunately, we lost the master of Turkish art music, State Artist İnci Çayırlı. I hope our artist, who has become a school with his attitude and knowledge, will have a place in heaven.” Finally, explaining the cause of İnci Çayırlı's death, Akay announced that the master artist passed away due to advanced Alzheimer's.

Who is İnci Çayırlı?

He was born in 1935 in Istanbul. She graduated from Çamlıca Girls' High School. With the encouragement of his composer uncle, Fahri Kopuz, he started music and entered the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1953. He became the assistant of Sâdi Yâver Ataman in the Folklore Practice Group. He entered Istanbul Radio in 1954. At the same time, he worked in the choir of Münir Nurettin Selçuk for many years.

He served as assistant conductor in the Istanbul University State Conservatory Turkish Music Executive Committee. He gave many concerts at home and abroad. The artist, who also makes popular music records, also has a gold record in this field.[citation needed]

In 1977, he started teaching at the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory. Between 1977-1985 he directed the ITU Turkish Music Choir. Since 1988, he has been the general art director of the ITU Alumni Turkish Music Ensemble. In 1990, he was appointed as the founding conductor of the Ministry of Culture Bursa State Classical Turkish Music Choir, and continued this duty until 1995, when he resigned. He hosted the program called "Back Room of History" prepared and presented by Murat Bardakçı.

He died at the age of 31 at his home in Istanbul on August 2021, 86.

In 1998, he received the title of State Artist given by the Ministry of Culture.
