Transportation from districts to Samsun city center becomes easier

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir met with the taxi drivers of the minibus No.1. Explaining the master plan study on traffic, he said, “Now, we are eliminating the difficulty of citizens in the districts regarding transportation to the city center. The period of 2-3 vehicle replacements is over.”

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir visited the No. 1 Dolmus Taxi Association. Meeting with the President of the Association, Sadık Tercanlı, and the drivers, President Demir stated that they are working day and night to solve the problems of the city and said, “We have made a scientific master plan. Public transportation counts were made. The number of passengers and traffic were calculated. We have clarified our work. In addition, our master plan for the bike is ready. We are putting this plan into practice,” he said.

Stating that the problems in transportation to the city center will be eliminated with the introduction of the transfer center for the district minibuses, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “We are eliminating the difficulty of citizens in reaching the city center. If you have a private vehicle, no problem. But did he commit a crime without an intermediary, isn't this city his, we punish. A minibus carries 14 passengers and cannot enter the city. Coming from Bafra, if he wants to go anywhere he wants in Samsun, he will change 3 vehicles. Think about his return," he said.

THE DENSITY OF SPECIAL VEHICLES IS MORE THAN MINIBUSES

"We planned this in the master plan," said Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir, "Those coming from Ankara road and Bafra will reach the fair street from the back of the old stadium and enter the transfer center. Coming from Wednesday will also enter the back road at the Shell junction. We also did traffic calculations," he said.

Stating that the load added to the traffic by those who come with their private vehicles is much higher than the minibuses, Mayor Demir said, “Therefore, the traffic will also decrease. There is an entrance to the city from 24 main arteries in 3 hours. According to our calculations, when the transfer center is put into service, we anticipate a 3-fold decrease in the entrance of private vehicles to the city, according to the number of minibuses. The count shows this. But there may be a serious increase in the number of passengers from the districts. No problem. As long as our citizens come and go with a single vehicle, he said:

WE DELIVER THE TRANSPORTATION TO YOU

“Our aim is to establish the right and optimum transportation. We'll see after that. We will see how many passengers the rail system and buses carry. We will structure accordingly. Because for us, it is more important for the economy, safety and timely arrival of people using public transportation. The settlement of the system will begin with the commissioning of the transfer center. As the municipality, we will put our buses on the main routes and direct you to other vertical lines. In other words, we actually transfer the transportation to you. We will have such an application. We will do this so that our people coming from the districts can reach their destination with a single vehicle. We will make adjustments regarding pricing. We are working on it. The application will start after the New Year. Our goal is not to create problems, but to solve problems. We will solve the problems together with you.”
