Example Transformation from ESHOT

By connecting the water used in the washing of buses to the recirculation, ESHOT General Directorate saves 201 tons per day. ESHOT, which is preparing to develop the system used in Buca Gediz, Çiğli and İnciraltı with 6 new facility, will increase the daily water saving amount to 603 tons.

While important studies are carried out in İzmir to prevent water shortage that may be experienced due to global warming and drought and to ensure that citizens have equal access to healthy water in all settlements, systems that protect existing resources and evaluate wastewater come to the fore. One of the best examples of this effort is experienced in the General Directorate of ESHOT.

ESHOT, which runs around one thousand 2 buses every day, provides savings of 201 tons per day, 6 thousand tons per month and 72 thousand tons per year with the facilities it established in Buca Gediz, Çiğli and İnciraltı in order to reduce the water consumption during the washing of these vehicles. Now ESHOT is preparing to add more 3 plants to this 6 treatment plant, which will operate with the same system. One of the new facilities is in Buca Gediz and the others are in Buca Adatepe, Mersin, Karşıyaka Soğukkuyu, Torbalı and Urla will be in the garage. With the commissioning of the 9 plant, water savings will increase to 603 tons per day, 18 thousand tons per month and 217 thousand tons per year. The 6 facility will also be commissioned later this year.

The system, which was designed by ESHOT, is based on the connection of waste water generated by the washing of the buses to the treatment by recirculation. Thus, after natural treatment, the recycled water is re-used to prevent excessive consumption. The water returning from the treatment is mixed with the water in a certain ratio. Thanks to the system, 75 percent water saving is provided. The average 280 liters of water used for each of the buses washed every day before the expedition thus reduces to 70 liters. İZULAŞ also has a waste water prevention and recycling facility in Belkahve.

Set an example for students
On the other hand, members of İzmir Büyük Çiğli Private Turkish College Robotics Team working for the projects on Tasarruf Water Saving in Car Wash Treatment ”visited ESHOT General Directorate's waste water prevention and recycling facility in Çiğli. The students wished that this system would be applied to all municipalities, private and private companies.
