Bursalı Women Close The Ring Road

Bursalı Women Turned Off The Ring Road: The citizens of Bursa, who took their homes in the center of 11 years ago and could not get their money, closed the road with stones. With the arrival of the police chief at the scene, women opened the ring road.
Citizens, whose houses and lands were expropriated by the central Yıldırım District Municipality in Bursa in 2004 and the ring road was built, closed the ring road, where hundreds of vehicles passed every day, on the grounds that they had not been paid for 11 years. The women stood guard with shovels at the stones laid by the children on the road. The road, which was blocked for two hours, was opened after Yıldırım District Police Chief İlker Türkbayrak convinced the women.
Approximately 2004 thousand 5 square meters of area was expropriated by the municipality in 800 in the Şirinevler District of the Merkez Yıldırım district and connected to the ring road crossing. The women, who claimed that their lands and homes were expropriated in the region, had not been paid for them for 11 years and that they were stalled by the municipality, they put stones on the road where hundreds of vehicles passed daily and closed the region to vehicle traffic. One of the women, 67-year-old Havva Birinci, who was kept watch with shovels in their hands, said, 'We are not saying that the road should pass or not. Let them give us our right. Whatever is done, but they should give our rights, ”he said.
Arriving at the scene, Yıldırım District Police Chief İlker Türkbayrak said, "You may be right in your reaction, but the solution to this is not to block the road." Convinced by Türkbayrak that he would let women meet with the authorities, the women reopened the road they had blocked for two hours to traffic.
