President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky issued a message of thanks to the railway logistics workers who helped the country to survive even under war conditions. Zelenski appreciated the efforts of railway workers, underlining their vital role in keeping the country connected.
Fast Recovery and Uninterrupted Transport Despite Attacks
Zelensky noted the resilience of the Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia). The railways maintain national connectivity by maintaining critical services despite Russian attacks:
Fast Recovery: “Ukrainian Railways is recovering quickly after the attacks, preserving its main routes and maintaining both passenger and freight transport.”
On-Time Arrival: Zelensky emphasised the high success rate in passenger services: “More than 90 per cent of passenger trains in Ukraine arrive at their destination on time, even under extraordinary circumstances due to Russian aggression, and remain on schedule.”
More than 135 Million Tonnes of Freight Transported This Year
A striking figure was shared, showing how critical the railway sector is for the country’s economy and life cycle. “In this year alone, Ukrzaliznytsia transported more than 135 million tonnes of cargo,” President Zelensky said.
