Hitting the tracks starting this Friday, November 28, the Holiday Lights trains will provide passengers on Metro-North and LIRR’s service with a colorful and sparkling experience throughout the New Year. Colorful decorations and safety messages carried at select stations will infuse daily New York City commuters with holiday spirit.
Metro-NorthIt will create a different atmosphere on the rails with the first diesel Holiday Lights Train, which will cover the lines in the East of Hudson. The illuminated sets operate in random rotations at all hours of the day, promising passengers an extraordinary travel experience. President Justin Vonashek, describes this initiative as an early gift to customers and says it will make it easier to access vacation destinations in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut region.
LIRRIt will provide service in a similar manner on electrified lines, with random rotations covering daily and night rides. Thus, passengers will be able to experience illuminated trains on electrified lines. Rob FreePointing out that the holiday is an ideal time for train travel, he describes this experience as a reliable, green and cheerful way. According to him, riding a train covered in colorful lights is a special source of excitement for children, train enthusiasts and adults, contributing to the spread of holiday joy in the region.
