CHP Muğla Deputy Özcan: “This Investment Program is a Certificate of Injustice”

Republican People's Party Muğla Deputy Lawyer Gizem Özcan made a statement emphasizing that Muğla did not receive the funding it deserved in the 2024 Presidential Investment Program.

Gizem Özcan said:

“This year, in the Presidential Investment Program, 40 million was allocated for the Presidential Palace in Marmaris Okluk Bay, known as the Summer Palace. Only a thousand liras were allocated to the Bodrum Drinking Water Project and the Muğla Drinking Water Project. More precisely, no funds were allocated for these projects, only a symbolic amount of trace funds were given to prevent the projects from being closed.

This Investment Program is a certificate of injustice. It clearly reveals the government's Muğla policy: Muğla is being punished by being left without funding due to its political preferences. In addition, while there are earthquake victims in our country who still cannot find a warm home, they are allocating millions for the Palace in Marmaris. This is where the words end!

MUĞLA CENTER GIVES APPROXIMATELY 9 LIRA TO THE BUDGET AND RECEIVES 1 LIRA

When we look at the 2024 Presidential Investment Program in detail, it will be clearer why we say "this is a certificate of injustice".

The Total Investment Amount of Institutions Other than Local Administrations in 2024 is 1 trillion 6 billion 903 million 731 thousand TL. The total investment allocated only to Muğla is 2 billion 708 million 513 thousand TL. This means that the investment allocated only to Muğla is 2 percent of the total investment.

MUĞLA DOES NOT GET WHAT IT DESERVES

When we compare the tax revenues collected from Muğla in 2023 (24 billion 210 million 402 thousand TL) with the investment allocated only to Muğla (2 billion 708 million 513 thousand TL), the picture of injustice becomes clearer: Approximately 9 lira (8.9 TL) will be allocated to the Muğla Central Budget. lira) and receives 1 lira.

It should not be forgotten that the share allocated to Muğla is not a favor from the government. The picture is clear, our citizens of Muğla are already paying 9 times more than they receive with their taxes out of their pockets.

We will continue to fight to end this injustice!”
