Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is preparing to implement the Electronic Supervision System by joining forces with the Izmir Provincial Police Department in order to keep the city traffic safer and faster. Within the scope of the project to be started in order to prevent driver-induced traffic congestion, violations at parking, speed corridor and red light points will be monitored using the system.

The points where the violation system will be established were examined on-site by the Provincial EDS Commission, which was established with the coordination of the two institutions. 177 red light violation points, 15 speed corridors and 128 faulty parking points were determined in order to solve driver-related problems in İzmir traffic and prevent accidents and traffic congestion. With the project, which is planned to be completed in 2023, security officials will instantly monitor vehicles that cause congestion in urban traffic and threaten traffic safety by using the EDS system.
